Did you know that NSW was the first state in Australia to introduce road line markings? They were initially used for pedestrian crossings in Sydney in the 1920s, and in 1928 police hand painted the first central white dividing lines on Sydney roads.

Modern day line marking machines were introduced in 1938 to speed up the process.
